The research on sociology of culture generally focuses on the cultural production, consumption and participation. Culture in this sense refers to domains such as art, music, fashion and media. Recent TOR research the field of sociology of culture has been conducted on libraries (How often do people visit them? What books do they choose?), cultural centers (What is the profile of the audience? Howe to reach a more diverse audience?) and cultural participation in cities, amongst others. This type of cultural research in the TOR Research Group is often policy oriented, with the analysis of people’s cultural experiences as main scope.
