Within the research theme of Time and Society a first sub-discipline entails the execution of time-use surveys according to this methodology. At current the Research Group TOR has developed a unique expertise by conducting small scale time-use surveys in 1984 and 1988, and large scale 7-day population time-use surveys in Flanders in 1999, 2004 and 2013 (the latter using online time-use diaries). Additionally, because of its expertise, the Research Group TOR is the advisory partner of the National Institute of Statistics Belgium for the 2-day population time-use surveys in Belgium in 1999, 2005 and 2013.
