Wanru Xu obtained her master’s degree in education at the Beijing Normal University and joined the TOR in September 2020 as a PhD student. For her master thesis, she conducted a qualitative study, focusing on the interaction between rural culture and local schooling in Western China. Currently, her research mainly concerns with schooling and parenting practice of Chinese middle-class family.
