‘Distinctions in the Flesh’, the doctoral study of our colleague Dieter Vandebroeck, will be published in the prestigious ‘Culture, Economy and the Social’-series of Routledge and is now available for pre-order. In the book, Vandebroeck traces the various ways in which forms of class-inequality shape the manner in which people perceive, use and manage their bodies. He shows how bodies not only help to symbolize, but also contribute to legitimize class-divisions.
